Turn the AC power fully off
Turning it off by remote alone isn't enough. Unplug the power cord or trip the breaker.

Open the front cover and take out the filter
Most open by lifting upward. The filter is a mesh that detaches easily.

Rinse with water (use a shower head)
If very dusty, vacuum first, then rinse with water. No detergent needed.

Dry completely in the shade
